What do you think of electric bikes? I am thinking of getting one to ride to work since I have a physical ailment that keeps me from peddling a regular bike. So, are these things worth buying? Thanks for your opinions and reviews.

I like e-bikes and have 4 of them. You might want to check out V is for Voltage a forum for e-bikes and other alternative electric transportation.

I luv mine, I enjoy biking itself, but this really enhances the ride, aint no hill to high, no wind to gusty, to keep me from my destination, rain... that's another story.

I just got a Pedego electric bike. I was skeptical at first but once I rode it my mindset completely changed. This thing is soo much fun, I seriously don't even want to drive my car anymore. You definately got to try one out to really experience what I am talking about. I just like the fact that you dont have to put much effort into riding it around but if you really want to go fast you just pedal a bit and this thing really gets going. Plus its great for the environment and I save soo much money on gas. It's just funny when I'm riding my bicycle down the street and keeping up with the cars that drive by. LOL Take one for a spin I have no doubt that you'll love it. www.pedego.com

Yes, the Pedego IS a great bike. I just picked them up here @ HB Scooters. The thing I like most is the fact that they are simple and support is great. 36v battery 500w rear hub motor. Good looking cruiser style bike, no service issues yet. Aluminum frame, 6 speed shimano gearing. I just got a Ltd. edition which simply means cream balloon tires, leather seat and grips. Really cool. Enjoy your Pedego and let me know if you need help with anything. Thanks.

I am the dealer for Electric Bicycles, Scooters and such in HB, CA. I carry the A2B, Pedego and Greenline. The Pedego is midpriced @ 1,495.00 and a good buy for the bike. There are two things that make it a good bike; it is simple, and the support from Pedego. Pedegos sell well and so far no problems. It is advisable to always plug in any electric bicycle to the charger even if you only rode it one mile. The most common problem I have encountered when servicing electrics is that the bike sat for a long time with minimal charge on the batteries and even with no use it will still drain at a slow rate. For anyone purchasing any modern electric bike, make sure to plug it in after every use and you will enjoy the bike longer. Enjoy.

I think you are totally right Dave, I experience a battery drain for the first electric bike i have bought 2 years ago, if you don't plugging it in after every use, the battery usually won't last long.
